This is an excellent, affordable option to the expensive wool kilts
that we also offer. Advertised from the manufacturer as 16 oz
poly-viscous, the kilts are 65% poly / 35% acetate. The acetate gives
the fabric a little more bulk, and gives it the approximate feel/weight
of a 13 oz wool.
These kilts fit nicely, and feel great. They have just enough weight
to feel like a solid garment. A great year round garment. Although
they can be dry cleaned, these kilts can also be cleaned in the washing
machine on the gentle cycle (cold water wash, hang dry, use a cool iron
to maintain the pleats).
Three leather straps (one on the left hip, two on the right hip) allow
for a small amount of adjustment with these kilts, up to two inches (a
30 inch kilt can be tightened down to a 28 inch waist). The pleats are
sewn down at the top, to help keep the pleats in place as well as
provide a more formal appearance.
It has an internal cotton lining. The pleats are deep, about 3 inches
deep, on average. The amount of fabric used will range from about 6.5
yards to 8 yards, depending on the size of the kilt.
Standard length of 24 inches,can be shortened for an additional fee.
Waist measurement should be take at the navel.
