The Kilted Nation reaches its first birthday!!!
I wanted to send out a quick thank you to everyone that has visited our
store or ordered from us online. We had a tremendous first year and
hope to follow up with an even better second year.
If you haven't been in, or haven't been in, in a while, we have added 4
times the inventory that we had at this time last year to include many
vendors and items from Scotland.
In addition to what we have immediately available in the store, we can
also take special orders for most of our vendors (House of Edgar,
Lochcarron, Charlers Buyer Sgian Dubh Co., English Pewter, Mary Kelly
(sterling silver and titanium jewelry) and more.
BTW - 60 new Utilikilts are being delivered today (lots in black). If you've been waiting, this afternoon and this weekend are a good time to get them.

TKN News for July 16th
Greetings all. This should be short.
1. New casual kilts, wool tams and other items are in, featuring the Hamilton Grey casual poly-viscose kilt, which is very nice looking.
2. Utilikilts are starting to trickle in.
3. New store hours on Tuesday and Thursday, we will be open from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. This will allow me to get out and visit nearby stores, disperse fliers, and work on marketing opportunities.
4. The Kilted Nation needs to hire part time help. Right now, only about 17 hours a week, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, plus weekends where we have events we are vending at.
September and October, we at least 5 events that are one to three days over the weekends, and we need to keep the store open at the same time. If you're interested in picking up a few extra bucks, send us an email with your contact information.
That's all for now folks. Big Utilikilts orders are due toward the end of July, beginning of August.

Anniversary Bash - Follow-up

Anniversary Bash
Our first year will be completed on August 1st (also Kathryn's birthday!!!!)
Any one that can, please join us for our 1st Anniversary Bash!!! The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Then, at a remote location, everything will start around 2 p.m. and go until it ends.
We want to meet as many of you as possible.
We'll have lots of food and drink, but will also be recruiting for help with the potluck lunch/dinner.
If you play an instrument, bring it out...who know if a jam may start up.
Please RSVP, if you can make it with how many will be coming, and if you can help with the potluck.

July 4th
The Kilted Nation will be open on July 4th, from 4:30 in the afternoon, until the fireworks start. Manassas closes the streets down in old town, so come out, enjoy the celebration, and stop by The Kilted Nation.

News from The Kilted Nation
Greeting everyone,
Every time I ask folks if they want to be on the mailing list, I tell them it will be very low volume, but I've been a little slack, recently. I hope to send updates at about twice a month.
1. First year anniversary!!!!
Keep Saturday, August 2nd, available in your calendars. August marks the beginning of our second year in business and our first annual anniversary cookout. We opened in the middle of bad economy that seems to get worse, but you all have helped us to stay afloat. I'll send more details in about a week, but wanted to get an idea if anyone would be interested in celebrating with us.
2. Utilikilts prices have risen
But you can still get them at the current/previous price for the next 30 days. Come July, I'll have to raise prices, so take advantage while you can.
3. Traditional accessories
We have started carrying wool Chieftain and Jacobite vests, leather swordsman vests and Prince Charlie Jackets. Our inventory is starting small but expanding quickly. These are great accessories to both traditional kilts and Utilikilts.
4. New item ideas
Is there anything else you'd like to see us carrying? If you have any ideas or requests, send them to us. We'll see what we can get in.
5. Events ideas
We are looking to expand our presence at events in the mid-Atlantic area. From Baltimore to D.C. to Richmond, from West Virginia, to Delaware. Do you have anywhere you'd like to see The Kilted Nation, or have Utilikilts available? Send us a note and links or contact information. We want to be two events a month, soon!!!

TKN at Frederick Celtic Festival this Weekend
The Kilted Nation will be at the Frederick Celtic Festival on Saturday, May 10th.
Directions, schedule and everything can be found the Frederick Celtic Festival web site.
The store in Manassas will be closed on the 10th, but will be open on Sunday the 11th.
